Never thought I'd be saying this so late in the year, but - we finally have floors! Or, at least they have been delivered. There is our tile, along with our cabinets and interior doors. An explosion is about to happen.
The upper photo is more accurate for color. But here it is finished. That brushed stainless wall window is actually a double shelf which doesn't show well in these pictures.
Windows
We received all but the one window that I was most looking forward to - the kitchen! Figures. This may unfortunately, not come in until February. Did I say February? Jeeze... You can see its plywood for now above.
But here is the good stuff! And my sister Barbara outside helping her daughter order a new cell phone.
And the pool guys surprised us by power washing the screens! Not all panel survived however lol. We'll get to that eventually.

December 2 through December 9, 2016
Rather than go into detail about the process this week, let's look at some finish work. We had carpenters, tilers, and window/door installers all there. They were great about working together.
Floor Tile
We chose a wood grain porcelain tile made in the USA. They actually look darker than they are, and they have no grout yet so the dark cement is showing through. This tile is in all the main living areas - living room, dining room, and kitchen.
And a closeup with grout.
Here is what we have in the master bedroom. It's a wood grain porcelain tile as well. This one came from Turkey. They are not yet grouted and are pretty dusty at this point.
And check out our new baseboard, crown molding, and new windows. Yes! This is the master bedroom. Walls are a light gray.
As for the guest bedroom and guest bath - the floor tile was delayed. :( But we did get the tub tile. :)
Guest Bath Tub Tile
So we did a tile surround above the tub which includes the ceiling. The tub will be white once we have it refinished. It's the last thing to be done as it requires no dust - which we have plenty of at this point.
That's Raymund from Brazil. He never actually smiled until I took out the camera... Brazilian Portuguese rock as tile installers. This is travertine - USA made. Love the new color. I'd only seen travertine in tan and brown.

Doors
Loving our French doors! Still need final paint and hardware, but so nice already.
And here are our new exterior doors. Impact to 150 mile per hour winds. They still need to be trimmed out, but what a difference from the old black ones.
This three panel opens from both sides.

That's Danny, our window wiz installer. He did all the windows alone but got help for the doors.
So, in summary here is how we look so far.

Next is the kitchen!!!!!
Enjoy your Merry Christmas season!
Spread the love.
